120 - Treats and Texting

A wonderful after swimming treat.
And then McKenzie sent her first text message to Shelby. Only fitting, as Shelby got her first phone call too.

119 - faces

Mike loves having his picture taken. He will be so happy that I posted this. That will teach him to make faces at the camera.
Here I am getting in trouble for something. McKenzie was shaking her finger at me and saying No No No.
So beautiful.
My little cleaning buddy.

118 - Camping in 20cm of snow?

Being Calgary we had a boatload of bad weather and snow today...Mother Nature does not care that it is the end of April.
McKenzie did not care about the weather and woke up asking for a tent. I had made a tent a few weeks ago for her and she decided today was the day for another one.
Mike made this up for her in the basement. (picture by dad)
Goofball in her tent. (picture by dad)
Tonight when I got home McKenzie and I played in the tent for awhile before bed.
It was a hair raising experience.Relaxing.
so cute

Then we played catch for awhile with her balloon.

117 - Green Soap

This was taken last Friday morning when I was icing cupcakes for Heather's birthday.

McKenzie helped me with the clean up.

Tonight in the bath McKenzie was very excited about getting some green soap to play with. Doesn't she just look like she is going to get into trouble here.

She would rub some soap on her hands and then rub them together like a maniac.

Later, she decided to play hide-and-go-seek. Here is some video. She kept Mike and I in stitches for 15 minutes with this routine.

116 - Technical difficulties or a user problem??

I had some amazingly cute pictures of McKenzie from getting ready for bed tonight. She went pee-pee on the potty and then used her step to get up to the sink and wash her hands. She was having a ball shaking her naked bum and splashing in the sink and then she decided to splash the water up on her face like mom does when washing my face. It was so funny.
Unfortunately, I did not put the memory stick in the camera so it did not save any of the pictures. Oops.
So instead I took a picture of this...the 4 basic principles of life...according to me!

Too bad it's a gift for someone or I could drown my sorrows in it!

115 - Long car ride home

Home again. Had a very fun weekend but nice to get home.
Here is a picture of Charlene (our host for the weekend) and Kari. Best friends since forever.
My travelling companion. This little guy hung on the seat in front of me all the way there and back.
It was a long drive home...felt longer than the drive there. To pass the time Jenien and I took some pictures.
Totally not posed!
Okay lots of pictures.

Thanks to Kari and DeeAnn for putting up with the rowdies in the back seat.
Here is one of the projects I worked on this weekend. A paper bag album...so cute.

114 - Nature walk

This picture was taken last night so doesn't "count" for today's post.
"We never take the time to stop and look at the buttons"
"Supermodel" Jenien on the "catwalk". There are 2 cats that wander around this place and love Jenien (one even brought her a dead mouse as a present); of course, as she is allergic.
After dinner but before starting up again DeeAnn, Jenien and I went for a little nature walk around the grounds.
Wildlife.
Can you spot the deer?
Nature.
Did you ever notice how a bullrush resembles a corndog...hmmm perhaps I am hungry.
More nature
The pinecones everywhere remind me of McKenzie as she just discovered them for the first time this week on one of our park trips. I didn't feel like I was ripping DeeAnn's pose off too bad if I made her help me with it :P

More pinecone

Having a great time and getting a lot done. Miss my hubby and little girl lots. See you guys tomorrow.

112 - packing slave

I am going away for my first scrapbooking retreat tomorrow and as usual have procrastinated getting ready until the night before. I hauled out my suitcases as I would like to use one of them to take my stuff in as they have wheels so I don't have to carry it all.
McKenzie thought she would help me and started going into my craft area and getting stuff to put in the suitcase.
She was having so much fun I started bringing her the stuff to put in. Saved me a step and she was having fun.
Then she closed it and started trying to zip it up. Mike said he didn't know you could turn a 2 year old into a slave. Mwahahahaha.

Gonna miss her lots.

111 - Two Parks - One night

McKenzie and I had not been to the school playground a couple of blocks from our house since she was a baby. I thought we would check it out tonight. It was hard to capture it all on film as she needed my help to play with most things there.
Hmmm...let's check this place out.
What should we do?She had fun but found the playcentre a bit challenging. She did have fun playing around with the numbers painted on the pavement.
That being the case, we went over to the other park by our house.
Weeee. McKenzie tried to point to something on the ground mid-swing and ended up falling off tonight. She is fine and got right back on after we dried her tears.
Boo!
Horn not working Mommy?
Okay, two comments.
1) McKenzie looks way older than 2.3 to me and
2)I love this hat because NO sun gets to her but it makes for some hilarious photos.
She loved playing with the "balls".
