355 - Bonding

Hi Harley!
Good Doggy.
We were heading up to bed and I saw Harley laying there looking so cute and I ran to get my camera. When I came back I captured McKenzie and Harley having a bonding moment instead.

Collage - Since I forgot another picture thought I would give you some of my favourites

354 - Groucho...

...Groucho Kenzie that is!
I've got the brain of a four year old. I'll bet he was glad to be rid of it. Groucho Marx

353 - Tommy K Play

We went over to Tommy K Play tonight for Kaeden's 8th Birthday Party.
McKenzie contented herself with building this "house" in the toddler area. These big blocks are the coolest thing ever.
Some of the boys came in and knocked down her house...for a moment we thought she was going to knock them down. Then she decided the jumping was funny.

352 - Low key boxing day

We are still all a little sniffly and not ourselves in our house so we had a very low key Boxing Day.
McKenzie looking cute in her new outfit from Grandma Heather and Poppa Gord.
Trying to get a picture of McKenzie in her new jammies but she was giving a last push of energy before bed. She is bouncing back the fastest but still getting a little more crabby a little easier than she normally does. Can't wait till we are all three healthy at once...you know in July!

351 - Christmas Day

Out of order but here it is.
McKenzie holding court after dinner.
Posing with Grandpa Mike.
Opening gifts.
Spoiled girl
Listening to the book that Grandma and Grandpa recorded for her. We had to listen to it twice before we could move on.
MORE GIFTS.
And winner of the biggest present award is...
As we were getting ready for dinner I was ironing the tablecloths and McKenzie looked up and said, "Mommy, what are you doing with that towel on the surfboard?"

350 - Happy Christmas Eve

What a busy day!
We started off by tobogganing at the park.
McKenzie LOVED it this year. We even got her going by herself.
After many runs, we decided it was time she learn to pull the toboggan up the hill herself.
And there she goes again!
After that, it was off to skate on the frozen over "pond".
She was not as fearless as last year to start but did very well.
When she saw someone older skating around, she started trying to push off with both feet and glide instead of step. A little difficult with the double blades but she was naturally very good at it. Thankfully she got her dad's natural athletisism.
While she and daddy napped, mommy made brownie bites to take to Grandma Heather and Poppa Gord's house this evening. Christmas trees and Santa Hats.
All dressed up in her new dress from the Chibry's (we let her open it early for Christmas). There is a matching pink overcoat that has the same pattern as the dress on the inside.
SO CUTE!

349 - 8 degrees of Kaeden

On Thursday night we went over to the Chibry's to help Kaeden celebrate his 8th birthday.
Here's McKenzie getting very excited about Kaeden's snowboard. She doesn't know what it is but it's big and that's impressive.
Here she is with her babysitter for the evening. I feel like I owe Tetley some money or bread at the least (the cat has a small carb addiction) for occupying McKenzie so well.
Eight Reasons Kaeden is Wonderful:
1. He is unique. I have never met nor will I ever meet someone so secure in himself and his own quirky way of looking at the world at so young an age.
2. He is kind.
3. He is patient with McKenzie. Not many 8 year old boys would be so patient with a three year old little girl that thinks they hung the moon.
4. He is funny. His quirky take on the world is often some of the funniest stuff I have ever heard.
5. He is mature. I often forget that I am only talking to an eight year old when we speak. I have to remind myself often.
6. He knows how to make any situation fun. He can often entertain with little aid or props.
7. His ability to put his own feelings aside and help. At McKenzie's birthday he was not feeling well but still managed to help me encourage the kids to play game and stay in line. He was the "big kid" so they all looked up to him. Not many adults can put aside their feelings and help others when they don't want to but at 8 he was able to do this.
8. He's our friend and we think he's great at eight!
Here's hoping 8's the best one yet Kaeden.

348 - Pattern

Not very inventive. It is a picture though so should count! I just like this pattern.
Does any one know what this pattern is on?

347 - Gingerbread

At work on Tuesday, we brought in Hot Chocolate and had Gingerbread cookies to decorate.
While setting it up I dropped one of the cookies so I decided to decorate him.
It was a horrible accident but his prognosis is good!
Feeling in a Gingerbready mood, McKenzie and I made a Gingerbread house. I piped and she was in charge of candy.
This is one of the Costco houses that are pre-assembled.
One of my managers at work bought it and then did not make it so she gave it to McKenzie and I to do.
It was a very fun food oriented day.
Tonight I am going to attempt to finish my wrapping and get some Christmas baking done.

346 - Wishing You A Very Maksie Christmas

We went over to hang out with Maks last night...oh yeah and his parents too.
We decided to let the kids do their gifts early.
Here they are starting. Maks had trouble getting going but McKenzie was on it!
Once they hit the toys inside...
...paper started to fly fast and furious.
Maks played with his Toy story stuff for a bit then wanted to play with McKenzie's new Barbie. I see a Ken doll in his future!
It was a lovely visit. Thank you for having us over and for dinner!

344 - Look at the Culture on that kid!

We went to visit Grandpa Mike at his work, the Glenbow Museum today.
My contraband picture of McKenzie by the paintings.
Hanging out with Grandpa Mike
After the museum, McKenzie, Mike and I stopped at Denny's for a quick lunch.
After her nap, McKenzie enjoyed playing with the new things she got at the museum.

Her Buddha Board.
Works like an Aquadoodle and she can paint with water. When it dries it is a clear canvas again. She loves it.
She also got this magnifying glass to look for "Clues"
Apparantly there are a lot of clues around our house.

Thanks again for all the stuff from the gift shop Mike. McKenzie is loving her loot and the books we got her are great. Mike and I are loving our stuff too. For anyone who hasn't checked out their gift shop at the Glenbow they have some really cool things there. We had a fun time in the discovery room too making picutres and crafts.
