Kenzie got a cold. Then she passed it on to me. Then she passed it on to Mike and my mom. She's all about sharing. Now her cold has turned into pink eye. She's on the mend and feeling better.

Happy 3.5 Kenzie

Kenzie is 3 1/2 today. We had some left over cupcakes from dinner last night so I put a candle in one and let her blow it out.

If you are wondering why there is a picture of a cupcake and not Kenzie for this post then here is a sampling of the cooperation my "model" was giving me.

My new commute home from work.

Due to so many routes having construction on them, my commute home went from35-40 mins to an 60-75 mins. Since I was leaving work at 4:30 and had to pick Kenzie up by 5:30 this did not work as I am sure ypu van imagine.
So, I changed my shift and tried some new ways home. The best way so far is to actually leave the city limits, cut south on a range road and head back into the city further south. It adds 15 minutes of drive time but removes 25 minutes of construction time so I end up 10 minutes to the good. Still takes 45-50 minutes but I get a nice drive in the country which I find very relaxing.

Vernon

On the road again! Heading to Vernon to visit Grandma and Grandpa.

Kenzie only slept for 30 mins on the way out but was a great traveller this time.

All of the renovations parents have been doing look amazing.

Visiting! We saw A lot of people but I only remembered to snap a few photos.

Uncle Ryan tickling Kenzie pink.

Great grandma Cucheron. 95 and she still lives on her own.

Baby Avery came for a visit too. My mom's friend Mary, her daughter Jenny and baby Avery came over. Kenzie did pretty well wirh her but got a little jealous about me spending time with her.

Made some amazing coconut oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

Lunch in Revelstoke on the way home.

Field finished the renovations on their visitor centre bathrooms. Much nicer. They also added this play park. Genius! With bathrooms, picnic tables and a play patk this is an amazing rest stop now.

The long road home.

We had a great visit. Trip ended up being a day longer than planned due to the heavy rain and the snow expected in the mountains. We decided to stay an extra day to avoid any possible mishaps.

Our little helper

Mike and I spent most of Saturday doing yard work.

Kenzie wanted to help too.

My dad had mentioned that vinegar and water was a great weed killer so I quickly ran in the house and mixed some up on a spray bottle.

Kenzie's job was to give 3 sprays to every dandelion she saw.

She loved having a job. We loved that it kept her busy and out of the way.
It was so cute as all you heard was, "One, Two, Three." then some rustling as she moved "One, Two Three." then some rustling...she counted out every one she sprayed.
