15 - Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Some of you may remember that I made a request for words or phrases to include in my posts this year. Here is my first link to the list I was given. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner. After dinner we went into town (my parents and I) and went to their favourite place...The Casino. Mom gave me $20 to gamble with which I turned into $0.03. She turned her $20 into $26. She showed me one of her lucky machines and gave me the ticket for the $26. I entered my $26.03 into the machine and turned it into $50...I cashed in and had to keep it somewhere safe...

I am rarely lucky on the machines...blackjack I can usually turn a small profit at least but the machines are another story so I will take my $10 with glee.

14 - Packing is so hard to do...

I am flying to Vernon tomorrow as a very good family friend passed away just before Christmas and his memorial service is on Saturday. He and his family have been friends and neighbours with my family since before I existed. I grew up with their kids as babysitters, bosses, and now friends. I am getting ready to pack tonight but when I look at everything I want to bring I don't know if I will have enough room in my suitcase.

I will miss Mike and McKenzie horribly but it will be nice to see everyone in Vernon and I am back on Sunday. Keep your fingers crossed for a smooth ride there and back!

13 - Blatant Rip Off

Sorry DeeAnn...they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

Soups on! Lazy dinner tonight, Chicken Cheesy casserole.

I leave for Vernon in 2 sleeps and I have to pack and make 6 cards and 100 other things I haven't even thought of yet.

Still not packed but the cards are made (Vernonites don't look too closely at these cards:))

12 - Day 12 and all's well

More or less that is. Not very inspiring pictures tonight I am afraid. A picture of the Potty Pedicure in progress.

And McKenzie snug like a bug in a rug ready for bed.
Too much to do and not enough time...that's me lately. But then again who doesn't that describe. Hope Tuesday is treating you all well and I will try for more inspiring shots tomorrow.

11 - These are a few of my favourite things...

BOOKS. Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE to read. I don't know if this will be one of my favourite books but there are not many things better than knowing that when I finish typing this I will go take a hot shower, snuggle under my warm flannel sheets and crack the spine on a new book. All the anticipation of what this new book holds...I love it.

10 - Pedicure

I need to work on the focus but here is a picture of McKenzie's pedicure.

I am using this as one of the ways to entice McKenzie to use the potty. When she sat on the potty today we painted her nails a light pink and I found these nail stickers that are pink and purple flowers. Once the nail polish was dry she got to pick a flower out for each big toe. She enjoys whipping her socks off to show everyone now!

McKenzie has moved onto 3D art now. These little figurines to paint were in the goodie bags we gave out at her birthday and I kept one for her.

She was so intent on it and so serious about it. I kept asking her if it was fun and all I would get is a slight head nod and "Uh hum."

I will have to start looking for many art projects to keep her busy with as she really seems to enjoy all aspects of drawing, colouring and painting. Even clay and creating that way is fun for her. I don't want to pigeon hole her but if she likes it why not.

The artist was hard at work and barely acknowledged me taking pictures!

9 - Snow Day

The weather today was beautiful. Plus 8! The snow is still around though so we took McKenzie to play at the park in the snow for the first time.

Off we go!

Weeeeee! She did three runs. The last one scared her a bit so we stopped after that and went to the playground area.

Down the slide...with a little help.

Home for popcorn. She almost fell asleep at the table though so off to bed.

8 - Study Study Study

McKenzie and I were both having "study sessions" tonight on our computers...can you see how thick that book is...why did I think going back to school would be a good idea?!?

7 - Spoiled much?

Since McKenzie has taken such an avid intrest in using our cameras, I took some of her Christmas money today and bought her her own digital camera. It takes pics, video and has a few games on it. Best of all, if she manages to break it within 18 months, vtech replaces it. Bonus. She took right to it. Now the only question is, "Does she start her own blog?"

After a hard night of taking photos and playing what girl doesn't want to relax in a bubble bath?

Mommy was playing with the camera settings while McKenzie bathed. I liked how I managed to get the cup almost translucent to see the crayons inside. All the other shots had it almost opaque...now if I could just remember which settings I had it on...

Look at these lashes! Sure didn't get them from me.

Wrinkly toes...time to get out!

6 - Again!

"Weeeee! Again?"

...and on and on and on...poor Daddy's arms! After Daddy was too tired she ran over to Mommy, lifted up her arms and said "Again?" Mommy got two lifts in, not as high or as long as Daddy's and her arms gave out. We moved on to leg lifts. Who needs a gym?!?

McKenzie advised Mike what she wanted to wear today...bright pink pants and a red and white striped shirt...Yikes!

4 - Play!

So if someone was doing a 365 challenge, not saying I am, and they are sick and take pictures but don't post until the next day, does that still count for the 365 challenge, which I am not confirming I am attempting?

First we read...

When McKenzie says "Let's Play!" she means let's go downstairs. And this is why. She loves playing down there.

3 - Toddler Day Spa

You too can look this relaxed!

Sleep in. Have a light breakfast. Paint pictures for an hour and retire to the couch with a snack.
Such a tough life!

2 - PARTY!

We went to Kaeden and DeeAnn's joint B-day party tonight. Had a blast. McKenzie is not shy and talked and went with most people that asked. She particularily loves Colin, DeeAnn's brother and ran to give him a big hug when we got there and before we left. In the goody bag was this tiny camera that is a veiw finder. McKenzie was determined to figure out how it worked when we got home.

Say cheese or ahhhhh?
Maybe if I hold it REALLY close.

I meant to bring my camera to the party too but forgot. Oops.

1 Happy New Year

Snapped some quick shots of our little girl today. I liked how some turned out.

She saw me turn one of her necklaces into a bracellet so she was determined to do it too.

Asking very nicely if she could have the camera, "I have? Pleeeeeaaaasssee."

So of course I said yes. Here are a few of her shots.

She loves when we let her use the camera. I may have to look into one of those kid tough cameras to ensure she doesn't drop one of ours. She is very careful but they are a little big for her hands still.
