110 - Playground fun

Star sighting at the park tonight...oh no it's just McKenzie in her sun hat and the glasses she insisted she needed.
We walked over to Maks' house and Kari and Maks joined us in an evening of play at the park by their house.
Rocks are fun!

Does the slide work this way?

108 - Maks and McKenzie's Day of Fun!

McKenzie and I headed over for a playdate at Maks' house today. I forgot my camera ... of course ... so had to rely on my camera phone. I do this enough that it is almost time to invest in a phone with a really good camera!
Playing with sidewalk chalk.
McKenzie helped push Maks around the yard.
Then Maks gave McKenzie a ride.
Playing in the sand. It was so evident that we had a girl and a boy in the sandbox. McKenzie kept scooping it up and piling it on the small toy you see in front of her. Maks kept scooping it up and flinging it as far as he could. So cute!
Time for lunch al fresco.
Maks got tired of standing so pulled over a chair for himself and then of course McKenzie had to have one. McKenzie is eating left overs from last night. She wasn't so keen on the meatballs last night but now that Maks wanted them she couldn't eat them fast enough.
Then off to play on Maks' slide. McKenzie has never liked the slide much but she loves it in swimming and could not get enough of it at Maks'. It was so cute. He would slide down and wait for her to get to the bottom, then they would laugh like loons. McKenzie would get there first usually and say, "Come on Maks, your turn slide." Then she would wait for him to climb up and it would all start again.
A very fun day. Thanks for having us over.

107 - Goodbye - challenge post #4

There is no sun getting through this sun hat!
Hmmm, where'd the ants go?
There they are!
Let me get up close and personal.
Trying to get a shot of her face...no luck...nice close up of the hat though.
Helping Mom and Dad with the yard work we were doing.
Mowing the grass.

Picking rocks.
Our neighbours down the street have twin girls that are a few years older than McKenzie. They came by for a walk while we were out walking and asked if we would like a picnic table and car for McKenzie as their girls had outgrown them. We said yes so they brought them right over....Huge Hit!
After playing with the car for awhile McKenzie came to "help" me in the garden cleaning up my beds. Mainly she hunted for ladybugs.
Hello LadyBug!

Goodbye LadyBug!

106 - New Clothes and an update on swimming

Every once in awhile Mike will tease me about going out and buying clothes and stuff for McKenzie. I just can't resist. I love dressing her up and making her super cute.
Today I got a little giggle.
I checked my voicemail after coming out of a meeting and Mike had called around 11:30am saying he was going to run out and get Mckenzie a sun hat as she didn't fit any of her hats from last summer.
I went into another meeting and checked my voicemail and Mike had called around 1pm saying he had not gotten much done but had purchased McKenzie 2 hats, a shirt, a pair of capris and a dress. I giggled for 2 straight minutes that he had succumbed to the call of cute little girl clothes.
Some of his purchases.
I decided to put McKenzie in her new dress for ease sake to go to swimming lessons.
Here she is modelling it after swimming.
And stealing some of Daddy's snack.

Swimming Update: McKenzie did much better this week. She participated much more and let go of me more and more to follow along. We even got a 3-4 second back float out of her. Yah!

105 - Size 4T

McKenzie and I ran a bunch of errands tonight and when we were in WalMart I saw this garden rake for $3. Mike said he is going to go outside tomorrow and rake the yard...now McKenzie can "help".
While we were out, I stopped in Ricki's for a minute. I have taken McKenzie there once before. They have a little table set up by their change rooms with colouring books and crayons on it. We walked in the door and McKenzie said "OVER THERE." and ran over to the table which from the door is hidden by clothing racks. She obviously remembered it from before. The clerk looked at me and asked, "How often do you come in here?" Not that often -- I swear.
Can you believe that McKenzie is looking super cute here in a size 4T?? The jeans are long and need a few rolls but stay up just fine. The shirts long but that gives her room to grow. 3T fits her just right with most things but there are the odd 4T's creeping into her wardrobe.

My little baby's not so little anymore.

104 - Fly

Tried to get a picture of McKenzie flying. Mike would lift her up and as long as she kept flapping her "wings" she would stay up in the air but if she stopped she "fell" down. Only got off 3 pictures and wasn't happy with any of them but then my camera batter ran out so off to charge it.

103 - SportBall

McKenzie started her SportBall class today. You can technically take pictures in the class but Mike has his hands full keeping McKenzie focused and learning so I had her demonstrate a bit for me tonight.
Here is her throwing technique.
One of the things they learned was to put the ball down and take 2 big steps back. Here she demonstrates stepping back.

And then run and kick.

Here is her scaring the dog technique...not learned in today's class.

102 - Drawing faces

McKenzie and Mike had quite the drawing session today. She drew all of these faces herself. Happy faces, sad faces, angry faces.
Sad face.
It's a little hard to see but this is an angry and happy face. To see our 28 month artistic genius in action check out the video at the end.
Mike's Aunt Anne got McKenzie this Easter Cookie house. After dinner McKenzie asked if we could make it.
McKenzie decorating. Mommy worked the icing and McKenzie worked the candy.

101 - Mitts and Muffins

I cleaned up the coat closet this weekend and McKenzie saw her gloves in there today and asked if she could put them on. She walked around for a bit before dinner with them on and then it was dinner time. She did not want to take them off!
See Mom, not so hard!
(she did take them off to eat)
Before dinner McKenzie and I made chocolate chip muffins for Daddy.
Yum!

100 - Mommy's a sucker

I wanted to get McKenzie out of the house this afternoon so that mike could get some stuff done. I decided to take her to Build A Bear to get an outfit for Teddy Bear.
On the way to the car, she discovered some ants to watch.
Then she asked to play with the snow. She decided it was cold but fun to leave "prints" in.
She had woken up at 5:30 this morning and then fallen asleep again until around 9 so we did not think she would nap today.
She was getting tired and a little difficult when we got there and only wanted to see the stuffing machines and not pick out clothes.
It was very busy as they had a birthday party there today and she didn't seem to want to do anything so I decided we would leave.
As we were on our way out of the door we were passing all the stuffed animals you can buy and McKenzie was telling me what each one was and making it's sound
(monkey - oh oh oh, bear - roar, chicken - Coo coo coo).
Then, out of the blue, McKenzie ran over to one animal and I heard, "Mommy! Puppy! I have it! Please, please Mommy?" How could I resist?
It was the cheapest one there and she hugged it the entire time we were waiting to have it made and was so good from that moment on.

Here she is rubbing the heart for the puppy on her cheek to make sure the puppy always smiles. They have a whole little ritual. It is cute.
McKenzie's Peeps!
She has to carry these 5 toys all over the house with her now. If she gets one more animal she will need her own vehicle to transport them all!
(left to right: Little Puppy, Lambie 2, Big Puppy, Teddy Bear, Lambie)
I do think she needs to get a little more original in her naming practices.
