Kenzie has a request

Kenzie has a request. Please call her Kenzie. Her name is not McKenzie, it's Kenzie.

She has always called herself Kenzie and I just figured the Mc was too difficult to form when she was learning how to speak but she has never picked it up. She has always answered when we called her McKenzie but never said it.

This weekend, Mike asked her if her name was McKenzie or Kenzie and she advised it was Kenzie.

We asked in a few different ways and every time the answer was the same. My name is Kenzie was the message we got.

I guess she nicknamed herself!

Goofball

I like to get a picture every year of Kenzie with a Roll Up cup from Tim Horton's. This year I thought it would be fun to get one of her with her own Tim Horton's and so she got her first Hot Chocolate from there on Sunday.

I should have taken the picture before she got the sugar rush I guess...

Oh well...I will try again later.

Going to the dentist and we're gonna get clean teeth

McKenzie and I had dentist appointments this morning. This was the first time she has had them cleaned. Last time they just looked at them and gave her a ride in the chair.

She did very very good. Asking questions and doing as they asked.

She said she had fun...at the dentist...really...okey dokey then.

Busy Sunday

Today was a busy day.

We started out with a playdate at our place. Maks and Kari came over for a few hours to play.

Then on to a birthday party for Owen, the son of my friend Lizeth from work. Owen was turning 1.

More party fun.

Then home to nap (she was so done) so we missed going out to dinner but after her nap we went with Grandma Heather to visit with Tetley.

Then on to a late dinner at Tim Horton's and to WalMart for a few necessities and home to bed.

McKenzie was VERY excited when I told her we could go and see Tetley the kitty this weekend.

Tetley's family has gone skiing so they let us know we could stop by and visit with her if we wanted.

As soon as I told McKenzie about it she wanted to go RIGHT NOW!

I told her we would go later.

"Mommy is it later yet?"

"Not yet."

"Oh, okay."

Elapse 5 mins

"Mommy is it later yet?"

"Not yet."

"Oh"

Elapse 5 mins...well I think you know where this is going.

Hair stylin'

McKenzie and I had a bath and afterward I did her hair and she did mine.

Cuddling

We went over for a playdate with Maks last night.

I think the kids had a lot of fun playing and running around.

They tuckered themselves out to the point that they sat on the couch to watch a little TV.

McKenzie was very diligent about tucking Maks in under the covers.

TV got boring so they moved on to Iphones and Itouches.

McKenzie had her own but thought the one Maks had was more interesting...I believe they were playing the exact same game so I think it was an excuse to cuddle.

I got a bunch of really cute shots of the two of them playing with my Iphone. Since they were using my phone I borrowed a camera at Kari and Lawrence's to take the pictures so I don' t actually have access to them right now to post.

Goofy

Went out to dinner with Shelby and Kaeden on Thursday and then to Indigo after.

Here is my daughter being an utter goof.

On Friday, Daddy and McKenzie met me at work and we went to dinner and then Daddy went to work. Kenzie and I headed to the mall for a bit.

She was facsinated by these people that would not talk to her.

Chore Chart

What happens when you finish all your chores for a whole week...

McKenzie and Maks kept laying down and cuddling on this couch/bed of Maks'.

As Kari mentioned, I think they may be a little young to be cuddling on a bed together!

Soccer

We registered McKenzie for her first year of soccer yesterday.

I never thought I would be one of "those" moms but I am anticipating her free ride to college on a scholarship and being picked up by a European team already...perhaps I should wait until she learns which way she is supposed to kick the ball on the field before investing too much in those day dreams!

You know what...

McKenzie thinks Kaeden hangs the moon and stars.

Not a shock to anyone who knows them.

On Sunday we saw them for a about an hour.

Kenzie cuddled up to Kaeden on the couch to watch him play his game.

McKenzie: Kaeden, you know what?

Kaeden: What?

McKenzie: I love you.

Bang Trim

After I picked McKenzie up last night we ran over to get her a bang trim. Last time I took her to the First Choice Haircutters on 130th as there is usually no wait and last time they were so good with her and I really liked how they trimmed up her hair.

This time they were still really good with her but they took her bangs a little bit short.

It would be fine if the rest of her hair was long but with it still growing in on the top she looks a bit like this when her hair is down:

Tuesday in pics

I took a little personal time at work and joined Mike and McKenzie at gymnastics class today.

Here she is working on her balance by wearing gym shoes to walk across a balance beam.

Then she had to crawl across a beam fitting under the hoops.
Tonight she got ready for her bath...and for some reason she thinks it is hilarious to be naked in our bed.

And Super Ducky.

She got this towel from Aunty Daphne for Christmas and loves to wear it around after her bath.

She is Super Ducky when she wears it.

Front roll

McKenzie is learning lots in gymnastics. We have to practice some of the concepts and moves with her at home as she is not exactly catching on right away...I think sports like soccer and basketball will be more her natural aptitudes.

After 2 weeks of practice...here is her front roll.

And over onto your back. She always looks shocked she made it.

Catching some air!

We took McKenzie to the sledding hill in McKenzie Towne. She was having fun and the runs were so fast she was catching air on the small bumps at the end.

She thought it was scary but great.

Then she met a friend, Shelby, who was 4.5 and took her down the really big, really scary run that she was too scared to do by herself.

All we could hear were sceaming all the way down and then massive giggles at the end.

McKenzie wouldn't leave dayhome today until I told her we were having wiggly squiggly noodles for dinner.
