Lost pics

My apologies to my loyal blog followers. Yesterday was busy and I forgot to post my pics. Today I took a whole bunch of what I thought were really neat shots and was going to post yesterday's and todays...and then...I tried to download them from the camera and ended up deleting all 48 I had taken instead...Yeah me! I did this while McKenzie was down for her morning nap and right after she woke up I took her to her dayhome for a few hours thinking I would get some more when we got home. I took her home after picking her up and fed her a bottle and changed her. She fell asleep in my arms and I put her in her crib around 4:30 and she is still sleeping. Don't know if she is down for the night but don't count on any pics today either. Again, my apologies.
Today was a rough day for me. McKenzie is 11months old today. This is the last 6th of the month we will ever have where she is Zero years old. After this she will be one. ONE! My God! How did this happen. I thought I was dealing so well with her getting older...today was a rough day. I will make sure to post tomorrow...oh hey wait...here's a pic...

...these are the new winter boots I bought for McKenzie. Spent way too much on them but have tried every other type I could find and the little girl will not bend her foot to fit in a regular shoe/boot. These are like waterproof bags that have a fleese lining and stronger rubber bottoms. You sinch them on ... no bending required....YEAH. Only hitch is that these are a med size (good for 6-18 months so they say) and her foot feels like it is right at the end. I will take her with me tomorrow to the store and see how a large fits her. Hope she grows into these feet!

Sippy progress

Some progress on the sippy cup front. McKenzie picked it up herself and...chewed on it...but at least she progressed from making us hold it for her while she chewed on it. She is also drinking out of it ... but we still need to hold it for that. Baby steps!

Ice cream montage

I was eating ice cream and McKenzie crawled across the room and climbed up me to get some. So we shared, though I think McKenzie feels I did not divide the bowl evenly.
What do you have Mom?
That looks good. Think I'll help myself.
Thanks Mom.
This is good!
More please.
I think it's my turn again Mom!
Come on Mom I want more!

Princess

While we were trick or treating at my work on Friday, Sandy, my boss, gave us a little dollar store crown for the princess. We put it on her this morning at breakfast...awww...what a cutie!

Why nap when you could stand?

Someone has figured out how to stand in their crib. Instead of a napping girl here is what I found when I checked on her a few minutes after putting her down for her morning nap. Guess it is a good thing we lowered her crib to the lowest setting.

Halloween

Finally managed to get some Halloween decorating done on the house. It's amazing how much more fun this holiday is when you have a little someone...even if they are so little they have no idea what is going on.
Puking Pumpkins

Bat and Disembodied Head

Skeleton and Witch
McKenzie's costume is up in the air at this point. I had one picked out but yesterday I found one that was sooooo cute and on for 50% off. I am going to go back tomorrow and see if they still have her size...you never know it may be marked down even more!!!!

Peek

McKenzie was following us around the house this morning. She is really embracing her mobility. Mike and I both sat on the couch and she decided to pull herself up on the other side of the couch and "peek" around at us. I caught a picture of her doing it.
After "peeking" at us for awhile she decided to blow some raspberries. A little blurry but I had to try and capture it. Our little goofball.

How can such a nice looking breakfast turn into...
...this...

...and this...

...and this.
We are working on introducing the sippy cup. We have had some progress but still have a way to go. In order for her to know that there is something inside I have removed the stopper for the juice/water. Because of this if she turns it upside down or flings it around then the liquid spills out making for messy meal times. The cereal bars are a new introduction as well. She is loving them...eating them and squishing them...equally fun!

Today was a good day!

Today was a good day! McKenzie slept through the night for the second night in a row. Mike got up with her and I slept in to try and fight off my cold. McKenzie had a good long morning nap and woke up happy. We went out and found a new entertainment centre which we ordered. (should be here anytime from 2 to 14 weeks - nice that they can narrow it down that way!) Went to lunch at Humpty's where they have free options for toddlers so McKenzie ate free. Lunch was very good. Then off to recycling and dropped Mike and McKenzie off for a nap...at least one of them for sure. I got groceries and then a lazy afternoon. McKenzie had another good long nap and then watched Monsters Inc with Daddy while I made dinner. After dinner, a bath and a little play and, well, that brings us to now. Really good day, got things done and lots of time to relax. Love that in a Sunday. Here are a couple of pics of McKenzie at lunch and watching Monsters Inc.
Happy Sunday everyone!

Going to the chiropractor

We all had a Chiropractor appointment this morning at 730am. Figures that McKenzie usually wakes up at 6-630 and this morning we almost had to wake her up to go! Here she is looking very cute waiting for me to finish packing up.

Banana

McKenzie loves banana. This is a great treat to give her at any time, healthy and she loves to eat it day or night. Tonight after polishing off a big bowl of chili (yes you read that right...she loved it and ate more than either of us expected her to...will let you know in the next day or so how that ended up!) she was still hungry so we fed her a banana. She is starting to like to take her own bites and not have you feed it to her on your fingers. Here are some action shots of a couple of BIG bites.

Second bite

Ummmm I swear I did not tell her she had to finish in 2 bites.

That's one full mouth
Perhaps too full...
I may have overestimated my mouth capacity Mom.

visit

Grandma and Grandpa Cucheron came for a visit this weekend. They drove in from Vernon on Saturday and left this morning. Was great to see them. McKenzie had fun hanging out with them. Here are a few pics from the visit.
