3 - Lunch date

Mike took this picture the other day. She insists on wearing her sunglasses around the house but they have so many finger prints on them that it is almost impossible to see out of them, never mind the fact that it is fairly dark inside. To counteract this when she wants to see something she will peak over the top of one side.
I decided to take McKenzie out for lunch today since Mike was working hard in the basement and both her and I have the sniffles and haven't been out much.
Here she is looking very pretty as we get ready to go. She even asked me to put on her bear necklace that she got for her first Christmas. Today is the first time she has worn it I believe.

Big girl eating lunch all by herself.
I know, I know. Wendy's does not make for a balanced meal but it was to be a treat of sorts and she did really well and we are on a budget so Wendy's it was. It was a fun time and she is getting to be so grown up. Where has my little baby gone?!?

2 - A chip off the ol' block

Yesterday morning Mike wasn't feeling so well. He went to lay down. A little later McKenzie decided she had to find him. When she couldn't she grabbed his hat instead and started carrying it around. I plopped it on her head and she left it there for quite awhile.
She was having a little trouble figuring out how to pick up her magnets without losing the hat.
But she got it eventually.

Last night McKenzie had her first sleep over away from home. She stayed with the wonderful Chibry family. Apparently she behaved herself and did well. Even better, so did mom and dad. We had a nice time without her but missed her a lot. The house just feels empty without her in it. Thank you so much to the Chibry's.

1 - Winner, Winner, Turkey Dinner!!

Turkey dinner number 2 is done. Yum yum. Had a good time visiting and eating.
My cousin Duane and his kids. His wife Carol works at Costco and joined us after her shift was done.

Ummmm are you done with picutres Mom? That food looks good!

I managed to get the butterflies and flowers hung up in McKenzie's room yesterday and to take pictures today. I wished I had a camera when she first saw them as her face just lit up. She now enjoys counting them with you.

120/120 - Happy Thanksgiving Part 1

Tonight we went to Mike's Aunt Anne and Uncle Howard's place for Thanksgiving dinner number one. We all had lots of fun and had a wonderful dinner.

Dinner Stage Right

Little cutie pie.
After dinner McKenzie had a lot of fun playing with her second cousin Olivia's toys. She was particularily fond of these binoculars.
Getting a little help to see through them.
It was a great meal and a fun night. Tomorrow it is off to my Aunt Lorraine's for dinner number two!

Request

I would like to ask for your assistance. Since I am only 1 post away from this year's goal, I was thinking about what I would like to do next year. In addition to McKenzie pics and lots of them I was hoping to try to incoporate some fun words and short phrases into the posts. If my blog readers could submit a list of words or short phrases that you think might be fun to see on the blog...or at least my interpretations of those words and short phrases... between now and the end of the year, I would really appreciate it. You can email me or just make a comment on the blog. Pick as many or as few words or phrases as you would like. McKenzie is not a valid word for those of you who were thinking of writing her name down 365 times!

Thanks in advance for any thought and effort you put toward this.

119/120 - Popcorn, Home Alone and a Fairy

McKenzie loved eating popcorn and watching a movie.

I realized after that I think popcorn is one of those foods on the do not feed to small children due to the choking hazard thing. OOPS!

We were watching TV...again... and this Halloween movie came on. McKenzie struck this Home Alone pose for the entire opening sequence. She wasn't scared as she kept chattering away but she wouldn't move her hands. She hasn't done it before or since. Man I would love to read her mind.

Halloween sneak preview. I wanted to do something different this year for Halloween as she was a princess last year. All of the lion and bee costumes I wanted to get her sold out in her size before I got back to get one. Tried the clown thing...if you saw the post the other day then you know how well that went over...so when I was in Superstore today and saw this fairy costume for $7 I thought "what the heck". So this year she will be a fairy princess. She can use it for dress up later on.
Fun with Homonyms
Cute Story: On the back cover of the Our Canada magazine this month is a deer.
Me: What's that McKenzie? Is it a deer?
McKenzie: Oh dear.
Me: No no honey A DEER
McKenzie: (shaking her head now) Oh dear.
Me: No n...never mind. Oh dear.

118/120 - Run for the Cure ... or Walk for the cure as in my case

Jenien was nice enough to send me the pics taken with her camera phone from our Walk experience. Thank you to everyone who was able to sponsor me. I ended up raising $485 for Breast Cancer Research.
Jenien and I just before we got going.
Along the course people had their houses and yards decorated.

Don't know if you can tell how snowy it was from this picture but by this point the wind had picked up too. Boy am I ever glad the walk is in October.
We crossed the finish line just a little after one hour. We weren't the fastest walkers and we weren't the slowest but we did it!

116/120 - I-Scream

McKenzie at her new favourite spot. She likes to stand on the counter by the sink and look for bugs on the window (thanks Mom!) and look for the moon and stars or birds or planes ... all sorts of interesting things happen out there. She is also carrying her two favourite food items from her new play kitchen...thanks to the Bates' family for the hand-me-down...two lovely "I-scream" cones if you ask McKenzie.
Here is a video of her from the other day doing some of my favourite animal sounds.

115/120 - What ya lookin at?!?

As you can see, McKenzie's face is healing up nicely. A slight bruise by her eye and a small red mark on her chin. Wheh!

114/120 - The photographic stylings of...

...McKenzie.

McKenzie took these pictures all on her own with my point and shoot.

112/120 - looking cute and a neat gadget

I loved this little outfit when I first saw it. I knew she would look so cute in it and she does.
Someone commented that in the last family album I did up from Dec 08 to June 09 McKenzie was never in the same outfit twice...perhaps she does have too many clothes?!?

NAAAAHHHH. She's too cute to have too many clothes. Love how mischievious she looks in this picture.

Here she is showing off her newest boo boo. A scraped up chin and slightly fat lip to go with her black eye. Mike and I had a small miscommunication when we were swinging her in the parking lot yesterday. She let go of his hand and I didn't know it so I basically whipped her to the ground. Oops!! At least the eye is fading fast so she doesn't look quite as bad as she could.
Found this neat little thing yesterday. It is a little wind up car for the fridge. You wind it up and then it will climb up or down the fridge. I could say I bought it for McKenzie but really I just wanted to see it in action.

111//120 - Carpet

Relaxing with dad after a hard day of ... playing and sleeping??
Carpet went in today. This gives an okay idea of the colour but it is hard to get a "true" idea with a point and shoot camera.
The "main" room downstairs.

110/120 - McKenzie "Clean My Clock" Gyorkos

I got a call at work today and Mike told me we had better start thinking of professional names for McKenzie to use in her UFC career.
McKenzie decided to try and stand on her sippy cup and just as Mike was telling her to get off of it she lost her balance and fell landing on her face. She brought her hands up to stop the fall and her left hand had a small toy in it.
Check out the puffy left eye.
Bruiser McK.

Mc "KO" Kenzie

Apparently she was fairly good about it and doesn't even seem to notice it now.
