On Thursday night we went over to the Chibry's to help Kaeden celebrate his 8th birthday.
Here's McKenzie getting very excited about Kaeden's snowboard. She doesn't know what it is but it's big and that's impressive.
Here she is with her babysitter for the evening. I feel like I owe Tetley some money or bread at the least (the cat has a small carb addiction) for occupying McKenzie so well.1. He is unique. I have never met nor will I ever meet someone so secure in himself and his own quirky way of looking at the world at so young an age.
2. He is kind.
3. He is patient with McKenzie. Not many 8 year old boys would be so patient with a three year old little girl that thinks they hung the moon.
4. He is funny. His quirky take on the world is often some of the funniest stuff I have ever heard.
5. He is mature. I often forget that I am only talking to an eight year old when we speak. I have to remind myself often.
6. He knows how to make any situation fun. He can often entertain with little aid or props.
7. His ability to put his own feelings aside and help. At McKenzie's birthday he was not feeling well but still managed to help me encourage the kids to play game and stay in line. He was the "big kid" so they all looked up to him. Not many adults can put aside their feelings and help others when they don't want to but at 8 he was able to do this.
8. He's our friend and we think he's great at eight!
Here's hoping 8's the best one yet Kaeden.
