171 - Happy Father's Day Everybody

Grandpa Mike came over for dinner tonight.
Here's McKenzie giving him his Father's Day gift from her.
"I help you"
Let's see what we got, Grandpa.
I show you how it works.
Peek-a-boo
The only picture I got of my "camera loving" husband today. Too bad McKenzie's not even in it. Happy Father's Day anyway, honey.

Playing with Grandpa Mike.
Around and around...
...and around. I think they will both sleep well tonight.

Off to Vernon tomorrow from Monday until Friday. I will take pictures but not sure if I will be able to upload them. If not then all updates on Saturday. Mike is staying behind to get some stuff done around the house. First and foremost, painting. Much easier to do without sticky fingers trying to "help".

170 - Finally...Some SUN

Finally a sunny day so we could go and play outside for awhile.
Still loving the water table.
And here she is saying see you later...I'm going shopping.
Shortly after this a bee flew by and McKenzie screamed and ran over to me shouting, "Get me outta here!"
Then she sat beside me and said, "Whew, that was close."
Then she announces, "I scared of bees." No. Really??

168 - Eyeshadow application lesson

My friend Jenien buys sheer cover make-up and as part of it got some eyeshadow as a gift with purchase. She doesn't wear eyeshadow and I was commenting how I am almost was out of eyeshadow. She brought it in for me to use.
McKenzie saw it this morning when I was getting ready for work and she was standing with me in the bathroom at the sink on her stool. She asked if she could have it.
I figured "Why not?"
She is not happy about having her picture taken but you can see her make-up application.

When she added the last touch to her nose she looked up in the mirror and her eyes lit up...she said "I a kitty cat!"

Mike called me at work to tell me this little story.

He was letting the dogs out of the house for a potty break. Harley, our bigger, male dog, ran past him and his tail hit Mike in just the right/wrong spot.

Mike fell to his knees and groaned.

McKenzie came running over.

"You okay, Daddy? You need a dentist?"

I howled with laughter...a dentist...really??

167 - There's no such thing as a quick trip to Gramma Heather's.

We stopped over at Gramma Heather and Poppa Gord's house for a quick minute to pick something up and then we were off to Opa for a quick bite and then to do some shopping...um yeah, that was the plan. As we were getting ready to leave, Maks and Kari showed up...all plans out the window.
We chased Poppa Gord downstairs and Maks and McKenzie wasted no time in turning his chair into a jungle gym.
Comfy!
Maks got a bit "fresh" with McKenzie.
Maks on the forbidden chair arm.
ssssttttrrreeetttccchhhh.
Excuse me...comin' through.
Tickle, tickle, tickle.
Finally convinced McKenzie to go as these people had things to do...about 2 hours later. Thanks for feeding us dinner Heather! We finally made it home but first...
....we had to splash in the puddles.
ALL the way down the alley and back.
And McKenzie thought the grass could use a little water...because the 10cm we've had in the last few days isn't enough!

165 - Time to continue McKenzie's education...

Teaching to potty train...important
Teaching her numbers...really important
Teaching her letters and small words...extremly important
Teaching her an appreciation for GREAT movies...
...priceless.

164 - Baby bootcamp AKA Heather and Gord's backyard

"Ya know if you bait it with worms the fish are biting even better!"
Cutest fishermen ever!
Spraybottle stand off
McKenzie took a break from the spraybottle fight to water some of Heather's flowers.
Two of McKenzie's favourite guys.
Thanks for having us over for dinner tonight. It was great to see everyone and I think McKenzie had a blast.

163 - Carnival for ALS

This is McKenzie showing us her muscles this morning.
Last night Kari called and asked if McKenzie and I would like to go with Maks and herself to a carnival at her school. The students organized a carnival with all proceeds going toward ALS. After nap time we packed up and headed to Airdrie.
Riding the bouncy horses.

MacKenzie showing Maks and McKenzie how to bounce the BIG basketball.
McKenzie loved rolling this ball all around.
I was a little scared of this next one but the kids loved it!
Apparently hitting bat to ball requires a rebel yell.
Maks taking his turn.

Bouncy house fun.
I'm busy trying to stay upright, Mom.
Snack break. Thank goodness one of the girls at work gave us this wagon last week. It was a must have to get around today.
We've seen it all, done it all and gotten the balloon flower...time to go home!
The kids had a blast and I had to get in on the action a few times to help them out.
McKenzie used her first port-a-potty..."Stinky."
I got to see what it would be like to have twins while Kari was manning one of the stations for a bit...thank goodness we didn't...Very busy.
Thanks for inviting us Aunty Kari.

162 - You Talkin' Ta ME??

McKenzie and Daddy came to visit me at work today. While there, she was given this crown, a full bag of chips, a full package of candy, many hugs and kisses, and a leaft magnet with a ladybug on it. I'm sure she was thinking, "Um Dad why don't we come here EVERY DAY!"

161 - hugs all around

McKenzie has been a little shy, to put it nicely, around Poppa Gord lately. Tonight on the way over to visit, I explained what a nice man he was and how much he cared for her and she decided she "Not scared anymore" and would give high fives.
She did one better than that and he got a hug when we were leaving.
I quickly snapped this holding my camera out to the side as she gave a hug to Gramma Heather and when I downloaded it I really liked how I got the reflection too.
Hope neither of you mind featuring in the blog tonight as I didn't exactly, okay not at all, ask your permission first. I figured in your family blog appearances are par for the course.

160 - Brushing your teeth is...

...not very exciting.

159 - First Foray Out with NO DIAPERS

We made our first out of house trip last night. McKenzie asked all weekend to go and visit Maks. Last night, Daddy was exhausted after working on potty training all day with her without that second pair of hands to help so I thought we could make them both happy and go visit Maks.
For those of you who don't know him, this is Maks. One of McKenzie's boyfriends.
Cute
Infectious laugh
Silly
Gardener
Bundle of energy
Sweet
Kind Hearted
Technologically Minded
That's what I think of when I think of Maks.
This picture didn't look like much on my phone but when I put it on the computer I noticed how Maks was using "the force" in the background to make McKenzie appear blurry...no wonder I was having trouble getting a picture of her yesterday.
McKenzie did very well at their house. She was having a blast playing. She did not ask to go pee but it had been awhile so I had her try and Maks was very excited about McKenzie using the potty. He clapped and cheered for her loudest of all. I don't know how McKenzie felt about peeing for an audience but she didn't have an accident and that's what counts.

158 - 3rd day's done and we're all still alive!

Chalk it up in the win column.
I don't know that I would say McKenzie is 100% potty trained but she does ask to go 95% of the time before she starts, will have the odd dribble and then stop herself to ask to go and when she wakes up in the morning or from a nap it is still more an accident than not.
Overall, she is leaps and bounds beyond where she was on Friday.
Diapers have officially been retired!
Such intense concentration.
Every time McKenzie finished a line of stickers she got a small special treat.
Tonight she got a puzzle.
Here she is trying to figure it out.
She quite enjoys it.
