I know Father's Day has come and gone but this post is very father oriented for me.
The first picture is more of a Mom and Dad focus. I LOVE corn on the cob. Possibly one of my all time favs. I have fond memories of growing up and planting it (ok I have memories of that, fond may be pushing it), picking it (okay all I remember about picking it is being totally scared that an earwig would get me and running from the patch as soon as something tickled me), and eating it (yup that's a fond memory). In most of those memories one or both of my parents are present. It just makes me think of summer and family and fun. McKenzie seems to be following in my footsteps as she can't get enough corn. She took her first real bites off the cob tonight. She only managed to get a few kernels per bite but she kept coming back for more. What really fascinated her were the corn holders. She grabbed both of them and used them as mini forks. She was quite adept at it and seemed to sense that they were sharp as she was quite careful around her mouth.
This pic shows McKenzie enjoying her first Revello. Growing up this was my dad's thing. After dinner in the summer my dad had Revello's. He always did and he always will...I am guessing. They are good so who could blame him. Every time I eat one I think of him. McKenzie found them very cold but very yummy. She shivered after every bite but kept coming back for more. I am disappointed to say that they are significantly smaller than when I was a kid and when you have to share it is even smaller!
This last pic is just cute as it shows McKenzie pretending the empty stick from the Revello is a person on her ship. She is really developing a sense of make believe.
