74 - BIG puppy

Tried to upload these last night but was having technical problems. My phone said that they were sent but they did not show up in my email until this morning.
We needed a new container for our dog food and they had one with a flip top we wanted to check out at Ikea so Mike and McKenzie met me there after work.
We had dinner and then looked around. McKenzie was super cute all night. She found this "BIG puppy" as she called him and wanted to give him a hug.
After many hugs and kisses she decided he was "too big" and put him back. Such a smart girl.

73 - It was a "Zoo"tiful day

It was a fairly nice day out so we decided to take advantage of it and take McKenzie to the zoo.
Do they make one of these in Mommy size? What a way to travel!
Watching the bear.
What is it? We heard that a lot today.

McKenzie was much more into visiting the animals this time. She particularily liked the Elephants, Hippos, Tigers, and Giraffes.
Best seat in the house.
She was so cute today. She asked to ride the Elephants, Tigers, and Camels, and then offered her granola bar to the Bears, Monkeys, Flamingos, and Snakes.

72 - So popular!

We are apparently so popular that we had 2 parties to go to today.
First up was Ryan Bates' 1st birthday.
McKenzie was first up at pin the chick on the barn. She enjoyed it so much that even after her turn she kept spinning and counting her spins.

Here's McKenzie rocking the party hat!
The kids got to make crafts.

The birthday boy. I have more photos from this party but don't have permission from all the kids parents to post pictures.

Up Next. My friend Kari turned 40 and we were invited to her non-suprise party. It was a surprise but the surprise did not make it all the way to the party.
I made the cake for her and decided to try and experiment with fondant for the first time.

It turned out pretty well for my first attempt.

McKenzie had a blast playing with the boys outside when we first got there.

Then she came inside to rock out.

First a guitar...next a tatoo???

It was a very fun day but I am very tired and ready for a nice long sleep.

71 - It gets muddy in those fairy fields!

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post these yesterday. When McKenzie woke up from her nap she decided she wanted to wear her fairy costume.
She was playing quite nicely by herself and when I noticed what she was doing (oops, attentive mommy) she had taken her gum boots off the shelf and put them on all by herself. It must get muddy in those fairy fields!

Here she is talking on the "phone".

70 - Dentist

This morning I had to go to the dentist and had made an "appointment" for McKenzie to come with me.
McKenzie and Dr Urban
While I was in the chair, Mike and McKenzie played in the kids play area at the front of the office. Then when I was finished, we brought McKenzie back to the chair. She got to go up and down in the chair, pick out a toothbrush and show Dr Urban how she brushed her teeth. Dr Urban counted her teeth, took a peek at them and then showed her how the m0nkey brushed his teeth. After that McKenzie got to pick out a prize. Afterward she told us "That fun!"
Yes Mom, she did MUCH better than her mother did at the dentist when she was little.

69 - Tickled Pink

One of my managers at work was just gone on a two month trip to South America. To welcome her back I made her a small (8 x 8) 40 page scrapbook/brag book.
Today she came to my desk with flowers, chocolates and a thank you card for all the hard work I put into it for her.
I was stunned and tickled pink.
Now I need to know, do I give her a thank you gift for the thank you gift she gave to me for the welcome back gift I gave to her?
Just kidding; but it is hard to know where to draw the line sometimes.
One last question, if you are trying to be a good girl and not eat bad food but you are gifted chocolate...wouldn't it be rude not to eat it????

68 - Challenge!

McKenzie decided she did not need a nap today which means by the time I came home we had a cranky cranky little girl. This was her only smile tonight I think.
She calmed down a bit when I put Mickey Mouse on daddy's computer...she wanted to try his earbuds but she did not really like the feel of them.

And now for the challenge. To turn this room into a usable space in 21 days or less. I would like to have this cleaned up by April. Since I work during the day and have plans every day on the weekends this could be a real challenge.
Wish me luck!

67 - I so sleepy

I need to go through this...
...and this
and turn it into 3 birthday cards for 3 little boys and I need the first one for this Saturday but they will all have to wait because it is now this time!

To quote my daughter from earlier tonight, "I so sleepy". Goodnight.

Is McKenzie looking "flushed"

McKenzie decided to "help" me clean the bathrooms this evening. She watched me clean the toilet and then wanted to try. She did a fairly good job. She kept looking up and saying, "That FUN Mommy". Talk to me in 10 years kid.
Mike offered to take her downstairs to play so I could finish up. When we asked her she said, "No, I busy!"

66 - Puddle fun

We went over to Gamma Heather and Poppa Gord's for tea this morning. On the way there McKenzie thought she would check out some puddles. I had a feeling she may want to after our walk yesterday so I dressed her appropriately.
After our visit, it was time to go and McKenzie decided she would put on her boots herself. I asked if she needed help.
"No, I do it!"

65 - Walk to the park

It was a lovely day today so this morning McKenzie and I walked to the park. Since it was so nice out, McKenzie did not have to wear her winter coat and was very excited to get to wear her Spring/rain jacket.
The whole way to the park she kept asking me if it would rain...I had to take this picture of what the day looked like so you could see how hard it was not to laugh at the question...no, honey. It's not going to rain.
When we got to the park there was someone using the baby swing and McKenzie really wanted to swing so I thought we could try the big kid swing for the first time. She loved it!
Next it was on to the slide. Not to slide down mind you, just to climb up and climb back down. This worked fine until other kids wanted to use it...took a little logistical planning then.
I asked here what she was doing here and she told me she was "Holding it up".
After awhile this little girl arrived and stared putting the rocks onto the bottom of the slide. McKenzie thought this was a GREAT idea and started helping out.

64 - Painting Diva!

I took today off work to give McKenzie and I some hanging out time and Mike a bit of a break. We ran errands and hung out til nap time. While in McKenzie Towne I took McKenzie to the paint your own ceramics store. I have wanted to for awhile but was scared they would think she was too little still. They thought it was a great idea so we got to work.
Who knew painting was such serious business?
2nd project.
McKenzie painted two pieces, she used brushes and sponges and had a blast. Likely we will be back. Can't wait to see her finished projects after they are fired.

63 - McKenzie's favourites

I asked McKenzie what she thought I should take a picture of tonight.
She told me to take a picture of the door to the laundry room.
Really??!??
Yup! She even positioned me where she wanted me to take the picture from. I told her if I had to take a picture of a door that she had better stand in front of it.
So she did.
Then I thought I would try to ask McKenzie a few questions. Stealing the idea from DeeAnn, I want to start interviewing McKenzie as soon as her comprehension has developed enough.
Me: What's your favourite colour?
McKenzie: Green Chair!
(I don't know that green is actually her favourite colour as when we play with Playdoh she asks for purple first and then pink next and when she colours she tends towards red and red tones so who knows)

Me: What's your favourite toy?
McKenzie: House!
After this I asked "What's your favourite book?" and "What's your favourite food?"
Both answers were "Nope" and a pouty face so I guess we were done with the inteview.

62 - Monkey See; Monkey Do

A lot of time and effort went into setting up this wonderful little table for McKenzie to colour and play on. Normally she uses it quite a bit; however; tonight because Mommy was in her craft corner...
...McKenzie had to be in her craft corner. Good thing I set up 2 desks!

61 - night on the town

I must remember to take my camera with me when we go out. These were taken with my cell phone.
We had to get dog food so we went to the pet store.
Then we needed groceries.
And home to bed.
Mike did not like my combo of McKenzie in her high top canvas sneakers and fancy dress pink coat. Tough...she's cute in whatever she wears.

60 - Lazy

Tonight I am coughing and tired and have given 3 time outs to McKenzie since I got home and 2 stern lectures so the only thing I had energy to take pictures of is whatever I could see from the couch.

Ah yes, random things in my basement...riveting stuff.
